Install ADHD PREP on your device for quick access without opening a browser
What is a Progressive Web App (PWA)?
ADHD PREP is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means you can install it directly on your device and use it like a native app. PWAs work offline, load quickly, and provide an app-like experience without downloading from an app store.
Benefits: Quick access, works offline, no app store needed, always up-to-date, and uses less storage than traditional apps.
Android (Chrome, Edge, Samsung Internet)
Open ADHD PREP in Chrome, Edge, or Samsung Internet on your Android device.
Look for the install prompt that appears at the bottom of the screen, or tap the menu icon (three dots) in the top right corner.
Select "Install app" or "Add to Home screen" from the menu.
Tap "Install" in the confirmation dialog. The app will be added to your home screen.
Tip: You can also use the install button in the header of ADHD PREP if the automatic prompt doesn't appear.
iOS (iPhone & iPad)
⚠️ Important: Chrome on iOS Cannot Install Apps
Apple restricts PWA installation to Safari only on iOS. If you're using Chrome, Firefox, or any other browser on iOS, you must switch to Safari to install ADHD PREP as an app.
Open ADHD PREP in Safari on your iPhone or iPad.
Tap the Share button □ at the bottom of the screen (on iPhone) or top right (on iPad).
Scroll down in the share menu and tap "Add to Home Screen".
Customize the name if desired, then tap "Add" in the top right corner.
Note: The app will appear on your home screen with the ADHD PREP icon. When opened, it will run in standalone mode without browser controls.
macOS (Mac)
Chrome or Edge:
Open ADHD PREP in Chrome or Edge on your Mac.
Look for the install icon in the address bar (right side), or click the install button in the ADHD PREP header.
Click "Install" in the prompt. The app will be added to your Applications folder and appear in your Dock.
Safari:
Open ADHD PREP in Safari on your Mac (macOS Sonoma 14+ required).
Click the Share button in the Safari toolbar, then select "Add to Dock".
Alternatively, go to File → Add to Dock in the Safari menu.
Windows
Open ADHD PREP in Chrome or Edge on your Windows PC.
Look for the install icon in the address bar (right side), or click the install button in the ADHD PREP header.
Click "Install" in the prompt. The app will be installed and can be launched from your Start menu or desktop.
Note: The installed app will run in its own window, separate from your browser.
After Installation
- The app will appear on your home screen, desktop, or in your applications folder
- Tap or click the icon to launch ADHD PREP in standalone mode
- The app works offline for previously visited pages
- Updates automatically - no need to reinstall
- Quick access to all ADHD screening tools, cognitive tests, and resources
Troubleshooting
Install prompt doesn't appear
Make sure you're using a supported browser (Chrome, Edge, or Safari on iOS). The install button in the ADHD PREP header should always be available if installation is possible.
App not working offline
Visit the pages you want to use offline first while connected to the internet. The service worker will cache them for offline access.
Need to update the app
PWAs update automatically. If you're seeing an old version, close and reopen the app, or clear your browser cache.
